A self-taught makeup artist, certified in both makeup and fashion show application, and a certified lash and brow artist with over fifteen years’ experience in the industry, Nicole Avillanoza has an uncanny ability to create soft, alluring makeup looks that accentuate your beauty and draw out your natural features. Nicole began her career in the industry in 2007 as the owner and manager of Faces Cosmetics in Winnipeg. Three years later, in 2010, she moved to MAC Cosmetics, working as a makeup artist there for eight years before moving on to Eye Candy Lash + Brow Boutique in Winnipeg’s Corydon District.
There, she does everything from brow henna and shaping to lash lifts, tints and sugaring. In addition to her wide-ranging retail and beauty background, Nicole has a diversity of makeup artistry experience in a variety of areas, including: five consecutive years with CancerCare Manitoba’s Guardian Angel fashion show; the 2014 JUNO Awards ceremony in Winnipeg; and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s 2015 performance of The Nutcracker. Nicole’s specialty is beauty and bridal makeup, and while she prefers a natural aesthetic, she possesses the experience and background to work in a variety of styles and applications.
With over fifteen years of experience as a hair stylist, Jane Tecson has a wealth of knowledge and expertise under her belt to give your hair the look and style you’ve been hoping for, whether it’s an intricate, glamourous updo for a special event or a simple, dreamy look that highlights your gorgeous features.
Jane began her career at Pelo Loco Salon & Spa in Winnipeg, eventually moving on to Vault Salon & Spa in Winnipeg’s Exchange District, where she worked on a number of local fashion shows and charity events, and finally to Aevi Spa Salon Boutique in the city’s River Heights area. In addition to her extensive salon experience, Jane has worked on creative photoshoots for Nygard International, a clothing brand based in Winnipeg, Simone’s Rose, an eco-conscious clothing brand based in Toronto, Winnipeg-based Tony Nardella Photography and Trevor Johnsen, a Winnipeg-based fashion photographer. Jane’s work has run the gamut from specialty bridal to fitness competition hair styling. Not surprisingly, her stunning work landed her both the Contessa Newcomer of the Year and Contessa Texture of the Year awards.
With a passion for dramatic, theatrical, and prosthetic makeup and a stunning portfolio that showcases her versatility, Elise Krahn has the unique skill to create any look you can dream up, backed by nearly a decade of experience in the industry.
Elise began her career as a makeup artist in 2011 at MAC Cosmetics, where she became a certified product specialist, lesson facilitator and was a member of the impact team, travelling across the country as a key artist for a variety of events. Elise’s expertise and passion for makeup artistry has led her to work in film – such as the 2011 documentary City of Champions – in theatre – as a workshop facilitator for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s production of Dracula – and on stage – as the makeup artist of Canadian pop and electronic musician Iskwé, for both her album photography and 2018 JUNO awards ceremony.
Elise has also worked on a variety of projects across Canada, including the WAG fashion show in 2012, Midwinters nights dream hair show 2013, short film 'THAW' for Szoldier clothing line 2015, the 2016 FXR Racing Winter fashion show, CancerCare Manitoba’s Guardian Angel fashion show, Nine Circles Community Health Centre Beauty Event in Winnipeg, and MAC Cosmetics’ industry event 'Instant Artistry' held in Toronto’s Eaton Centre.
Her work has also been published in multiple places such as FXR Racing catalogue and in Dark Beauty magazine .
